Life Care Planning is a specialty discipline and includes the process of developing an integrated care plan for the current and future health and life care needs and costs for individuals who have experienced a catastrophic injury or have chronic health care needs. Integrated Life Care Plans are used for the purpose of care management and are often included in claims management for workers compensation and legal liability cases.
Individuals who have attained the Certified Life Care Planner® (CLCP® ) designation can earn from $80 to $250 per hour or more. There is a high demand for trained and certified life care planners.

Life Care Planners act as a liaison between the medical and legal field and come from a wide variety of disciplines including case management, vocational rehabilitation counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physiatry, social work, mental health and others. Certified Life Care Planners specialize in the formulation of an Integrated Care Plan through the process of conducting interviews, reviewing medical records and legal files, collaborating with a myriad of health care providers, treatment teams, and by researching the cost of current and future care needs.
