Steps

Curriculum

This curriculum is considered to be a directed study.

Students complete the work on their own at their convenience.

Students are responsible for completing the readings and assimilating the information.

Students who enroll in this course have already acquired a significant amount of training and education. This program makes a concerted effort to avoid what many refer to as “busy work” and to remain flexible in accommodating the demanding schedules of working rehabilitation professionals.

Presentation materials are limited to PowerPoint presentations, videos, and assigned readings. Some students prefer to listen to articles using a PDF audio reader or audio textbooks while commuting. Audio lectures may be added when course updates are implemented.

We recommend that you read the textbook chapters first.

Overall we recommend that students follow these steps:

1. Pay close attention to the course and objectives.

2. Pay close attention to main concepts and definitions.

3. Read the materials, highlight, and save the articles, fact sheets and presentation slides.

4. Watch videos that are posted in the modules.

5. Course review - revisit the learning objectives.

6. Complete any quizzes (learning checks).

7. Complete all courses. This includes reading all of the assigned materials.

8. Develop and submit a completed life care plan for review.

9. Attend a life care planning conference and submit proof of attendance (virtual or in-person).
