Who we are

The Southwest Florida Training Institute™ was founded by Dr. Dillahunt-Aspillaga to provide a flexible, affordable and quality training program for those seeking to become certified as life care planners and advanced vocational rehabilitation counseling practitioners beyond a Master's degree.  Dr. Dillahunt is the content developer for the fully online LCP Bootcamp. Dr. Dillahunt received her PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Florida. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), a Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP), International Certified Vocational Evaluator (ICVE- D), and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer (CBIST-R). She is also a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation and Diplomate with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals. Dr. Dillahunt is enrolled in  the Master of Science in Law (MSL) program at Northwestern Univeristy, Pritzker School of Law. 

Dr. Dillahunt is employed as a tenured full Professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies, Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa. 

The Southwest Florida Training Institute™ is not affiliated with any University or College and all course materials were developed independently using personal time and resources. 

Note: Any questions related to this asynchronous training institute directed to Dr. Dillahunt will be answered outside of regular business hours, M-F, 8 am—5 pm ET. Dr. Dillahunt offers personal mentoring services only in June and July.
